Who really cares?
Providing lifelong care requires understanding, determination, knowledge and resources. The experience of parents providing lifelong care has shown that parents will eventually need effective support with the care of their son or daughter... and themselves.
People with disability
People with disability: Adam - A trip to the dentist where he is treated with dignity and kindness. “I started my day as any other day. Watching TV with my medication beside my mug of tea. I knew something was going to happen today”.
Parents
Taking time to remember that as Parents we love our sons and daughters in different and unique ways. “There is no doubt that parents share something special… something deeper with their children and for each child, it is different”.
Carers
Carers: Mary - Good care is based on a genuine connection with a person. “Finding people who would really care for Mary was by far my biggest challenge and greatest relief. Figuring out what to do… how to go about it and who to talk to, were part of the challenge”.
